Many gather today outside the Bloodworks Northwest in solidarity with employees of the Olympia center who have been in bargaining with their employer just shy of one year. Bloodworks has all but refused to negotiate in good faith, dragging out the process in hopes the employees will give up their fight for protection from their greedy employer. We were just practicing picketing today, as we prepare to fight all the way to the finish line.
Hailey, a devoted Bloodworks employee on the picket line today, said "it's the first time in Bloodworks history that a group of employees and Union has gotten this fair in the process! We need protection we can only get from the Union. Job security is important, as at will employees we can be fired for no reason and it's a little suspicious that Union supporters get fired for things non-Union supporters only get a slap on the wrist for".
Brother Anthony of Labors Union 252 says, "Everyone deserves decent wages and their dignity. The least Bloodworks Northwest can do is negotiate in good faith".
