Mike Werner, Business Agent
Mike has been a Teamster member since 1971 when he became a member of Local 117 while working as a Warehouseman for a Seattle based Firm. He was employed as a commercial truck driver with Garret Freight lines from 1973 through 1978 as a member of Teamsters Local 741, at Milwaukee Motor transport 1978 through 1980 as a member of Local 174 , again as a Local 741 member at Nations Way Transport from 1980 to 1998 and at the Port of Seattle 1998 through 2000, returning to Local 174. Mike served as a elected Shop Steward for 18 years was an elected Executive Board member at Local 741 for 12 years serving as both the Recording Secretary and Vice President of the Local. Mike also served as a Business Agent at Local 174, from 2000 through 2003 representing member covered under the Master Freight Agreement as well as in the small package division representing UPS and DHL members. Mike came on staff with Local 252 in January of 2004.
Currently sits on the Tech Prep Committee and Workforce Training Program Committee at Centralia Community College.
Mike is married with six children and four grandchildren.
